SIMON PURE CHRISTMAS PARTY BCCA Niagara recently traveled to the U.S.A to attend the annual Simon Pure Christmas party at the home of member Mike Sandretto. Mike was a very gracious host and we all had a great time enjoying the delicious food and drinks. Mike’s brewery collection of cans and trays and so much more is quite outstanding. It was really something to see and appreciate. The following pictures of the collection show you just how many amazing things he has been able to acquire over the years. BCCA Niagara again would just like to say “ Thanks “ Mike for everything, your truly a great guy. Kame and Kettle Beer Works On November 3rd at 6pm....Kame and Kettle Beer Works opened for business at 25 Pelham Town Square, Fonthill....5 minutes from my house!! BCCA Niagara member, Joe Seliske discovered the brewery, had a beer, took some pictures and sent out an email to BCCA Niagara members informing them of his new discovery....Niagara's newest Craft Beer Brewery !! Once receiving Joe's email, I stopped by for a beer on Sunday November 8th. Dave the Brewmaster, mentioned that he would have a fresh batch IPA ready for Thursday night....so I invited all BCCA Niagara members to join me for a beer on Thursday November 12th at 7pm at Kame and Kettle Beer Works. 6 Niagara members came out Thursday night, including Graham, who was just off a plane from his Cuba vacation. Todd and Dave took good care of us...providing us with a behind the scenes tour and I had the privilege to "bottom open" the first can of beer at Kame and Kettle. Kame and Kettle labels had just arrived...prior they would use a Sharpie to write on the can which flavor of beer was sealed in the can. The can they are using is a 950ml Ball can....the recycling / refund listed on the lid is for USA locations? Once the can is filled, it is placed in a machine, the lid is applied and the can spins around and presto, the beer is sealed and now it is time to lay the can on the bar and a peel and stick label is rolled onto the can. With a marker, the flavour of beer is written on the label and the can is ready to go ! Go to kameandkettle.ca and learn more about the great beer they have waiting for you! Go to bccaniagara.ca and learn more about our brewery collectibles club and see pictures taken at Kame and Kettle Beer Works. Drink Up !! Larry Lemelin Founder and President of BCCA Niagara
